I am researching Lawrence (Laurence) Cahill who served with Company B of the 69th NY Infantry and later served with the Veteran Reseve Corps. I have acquired some of his personal items from his family and in the group was a sword and scabbard from the Royal Irish Constabulary. I would like to know if anyone has any information about his possibly being a member of the RIC.
